Shahapur My Native Place

Shahapur   My Native Place

Shahapur is a small town located in the foothills of Sahyadri mountains in Thane district. It also , that's why I am mentioning it here in my blog.

The nearest railway station is Asangaon, which is 85 km from Mumbai CST on the Central railway line. Shahapur is situated around 25 km from Kalyan railway station, 45 km from Thane, and 55 km from Mulund. Shahapur lies on the Mumbai-Agra National Highway - No.3 and is 90 km from Mumbai.

A place which would have been aptly described 15 years ago as a typical village in India has transformed into a town booming with industries, trade and ofcourse real estate, thanks to its strategic location on NH-3(Mumbai-Nasik-Agra). Apart from its location, the natural beauty around it has to offer makes it a place worth investing in land. Several townships and farmhouses have come up in the vicinity of Shahapur in the span of couple of years.

One of the major tourist attraction is Mahuli Fort located 7Km away from the town and Jain Manas Mandir 4kms enroute Mahuli. Mahuli has its place in the history of Marathas while Manas Mandir came up recently and is believed to be built at a place where Lord Mahavira had touched his feet. More about Mahuli & its breathtaking beauty and waterfalls, Manas Mandir, the Dams ( Tansa, Bhatsa & Vaitarna ) and wildlife around my hometown will be following.... Above are pics of Mahuli and Manas Mandir..
